Category: Peppercorns

Native to South Asia, white pepper is a versatile spice cabinet staple with lots of possibilities. Made from the ripe berries of the pepper plant, white peppercorns have their outer black husk removed  before grinding. Compared to black pepper, white pepper has a milder flavor, subtle heat and earthy flavor.

Chefs often use white pepper in dishes where its flavor can shine without affecting the appearance. White pepper blends seamlessly into light-colored dishes like alfredo sauce, mashed potatoes and pureed soups - like our Parsnip Soup with Crispy Shallot Gremolata.

Joseph ★★★★★

I love how finely ground this white pepper is—no clumps, and it dissolves perfectly into light sauces and soups. The flavor is noticeably more floral than black pepper, which brightens up my stir-fries without making them look speckled.

Sophia ★★★★★

The heat level is milder than black pepper, which makes it perfect for light sauces without overpowering them. I used it in a white cream pasta and the flavor blended beautifully.

Richard B. ★★★★★

The ground texture is fine and even, and it’s got that clean, sharp heat without the earthy bite of black pepper. I’ve been using it in lighter sauces and mashed potatoes, and it blends in smoothly every time.
