Epicurean was born out of a company making eco-friendly municipal skate parks. The wood composite used in skate ramps is extremely durable and non-porous, but also food safe and dishwasher safe. Epicurean staff started using the excess material to create cutting boards as gifts for family and friends. Demand soared, and today, Epicurean produces a variety of wood composite kitchen tools.

Used mine daily for over a month and still haven't seen a single crack or stain, even after going through the dishwasher each time. The extended handle gives a nice grip when stirring a big pot. Only reason it's not five stars is the finish isn't quite as smooth as my old wooden spoons.
