Central Grocery is the New Orleans Muffuletta origin story. Located on Decatur Street in the middle of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Central Grocery was founded in 1906 by Salvatore Lupo, a Sicilian immigrant who is famous for creating the muffuletta. Lined with shelves stocked with imported pasta and olive oil as the aroma of cured pork and aged cheeses fill the air, the shop hasn’t changed over the years. They always make their muffulettas with meats sliced in house, locally baked handmade bread and THIS the family’s Italian Olive Salad. Enjoy your own taste of New Orleans!

Ingredients: green pimento-stuffed olives, Kalamata olives, giardiniera (cauliflower, celery, carrots), pepperoncini, and red bell peppers, all mixed with a soybean/olive oil blend, vinegar, garlic, and spices

Tastes exactly like the muffulettas I've had from the French Quarter, with that sharp, briny kick from the olives and giardiniera. I spread it on some good bread with salami and provolone, and it transported me straight back to Decatur Street. The jar is generous too, so I've got enough for a few mo

The mix of olives and giardiniera had just the right briny kick to make my homemade muffuletta taste authentic. Spread it generously on good bread with salami and provolone, and you’re transported straight to the Quarter.

Brining a taste of the French Quarter home was effortless with this on hand. My first bite of the muffuletta had that tangy, briny kick that makes the sandwich iconic. It's exactly the right texture, not too chunky or mushy.
