Thyme has been used since Hellenistic times. Its name has confused origins, but most likely came from the Greek word "Thymus," which means courage due to Thyme's ability to invigorate the senses. Thyme has also symbolized elegance for the Greeks, chivalry in the Middle Ages and the Republican spirit in France. Thyme has long been used to flavor alcohol and cheese, and is an important spice in clam chowder, bouquets garnis (a bundle of aromatic herbs), soups and stews, including those that use beans or lentils. Thyme blends well with many dishes including meats, vegetables, breads, tomato sauces, flavored vinegar and infused oils.

Sofia Q. ★★★★★

I've been using this whole thyme leaf in my slow-cooked stews, and the leaves hold their shape much better than the crushed stuff I used to buy. The aroma really fills the kitchen.

Zoe ★★★★★

The moment I opened the pouch, that bold, earthy aroma hit me—exactly the invigoration the description promises. I’ve been crumbling a few leaves into my stews all week, and the flavor holds up beautifully, reminding me why this herb earned its name.

Aurora ★★★★★

The leaves are incredibly fragrant and fresh—way more potent than the dusty jar I had before. They held up beautifully through a whole braise, giving the broth a deep, earthy kick.
