Juniper Berries (Juniperus Communis) are the ripe, dried cones from the Juniper Evergreen Shrub. These small bluish purple berries deliver an intense spicy flavor with a slight overtone of pine. Best known as the flavoring for gin and other liqueurs, Juniper Berries are often used for cooking game meat. Juniper Berries can be used in a marinade or rubbed over the meat before grilling or roasting. Add Ground Juniper Berries to marinades for a wonderful flavor that takes away the gamey "bite" of deer, lamb or duck.

Be sure to check out our Game & Fowl Seasoning Blend for an excellent pairing for Juniper Berries. Venison Seasoning features juniper and is just the thing after a big game hunt.

George ★★★★★

I've been using these juniper berries in my wild game marinades, and the spicy pine flavor really cuts through the richness. A little goes a long way—I only needed about a tablespoon for a whole venison roast.

Robert ★★★★★

The deep piney aroma hit me as soon as I opened the bag, and crushing a few for a venison stew gave it that perfect woodsy kick. These are far punchier than the stale ones I've had before.

Sofia ★★★★★

I crushed a few of these berries into my beef stew last night and that subtle pine-spice depth was exactly what it needed. They’re much more aromatic than the pre-ground stuff I’d been using—really freshens up a dish.
