Black cardamom is dried over an open fire resulting in a beautiful, smoky aroma and flavor. The smokiness combines with cardamom's slightly minty aroma and camphor characteristics creating a great balance of smoky-sweet balance.

Grind black cardamom into a powder - we love this mortar and pestle for the job - and use as you would black pepper. We love dropping a whole black cardamom into a pot of beans for lentils for a gentle flavor infusion.

Matthew R. ★★★★★

The smoky aroma hits you immediately when you open the bag, and it's perfect for adding depth to my slow-cooked lamb. I love how the camphor and minty notes come through without being overwhelming.

Owen M. ★★★★★

That camphor note really balances the smoke — way more complex than grocery store pods. I crushed one into my lentil stew and the whole house smelled incredible.

Victoria ★★★★★

This is exactly what I hoped for—that deep, smoky flavor with a hint of mint and camphor that you just can't get from the green kind. It really elevates my slow-cooked curries with a whole new layer of complexity.
