Bay Leaves (Laurus nobilis) are the leaves from the Bay Laurel Tree commonly found in the Mediterranean region. Ground Bay is ground from the whole leaf and is used to add a tangy, earthy flavor to recipes.

Ground Bay is found in many Cajun and Creole spice blends including our house-blended Bayou Lafourche Blend. From pots of red beans to gumbo, Bay Leaves and Ground Bay capture the flavor of South Louisiana. Add Ground Bay directly to your simmering recipes like soups, stews, pot roast, gumbos and, of course, red beans!

Isabella ★★★★★

The texture is fine and consistent, perfect for blending into soups without any gritty bits. It has that distinct earthy, tangy kick that really rounds out my stews.

Scarlett ★★★★★

Finally found ground bay leaf that's actually from the whole leaf—the earthy flavor really comes through in my slow-cooked stews. The texture is fine enough to blend in smoothly without any gritty bits.

Samuel ★★★★★

The earthy tang of this ground bay leaf is so much more convenient than fishing whole leaves out of my stews. A small pinch really deepens the flavor of my lentil soup without any of the fuss.
